Hi guys

In two weeks time we will be buying a set of 265 / 75 x 16 insa turbo special tracks and having them fitted to our 16 x 7 black modular wheels can't wait as all the A /T's that are on it atm all have a couple of screws and nails in them as I had a puncture yesterday and although it was up even the spare has a couple of screws in it aswell and I am sick of running to the petrol station every week pumping the fooker's up and whilst I was there I had a good look round at the others and I could see at least two nails / screws in them :(

but yeah can't wait now :D:D

Ask yourself where are the screws/nails coming from?

Well I have only had the car since February so could have been there when I bought it I know the one in the spare was and I have done a couple of tip runs aswell since so could quite possibly be from there but we had planned to buy these tyres anyway so mite aswell get them done now instead :)

i bought a new motor the other week with them on and there hideous on the road.

Unless you do mega off road miles and no on road miles id re-consider. Fast!

Or at least drive someone else's first if you haven't already.

they are not good at all on the road , a good all-rounder is the diamond pattern but they tend to have a delayed reaction on bends, they are quiet however which insa's are not

I have diamonds on my daily driver TD5 and soon to be insa's on my offroad ( but road legal) TDI

its obviously the OP's choice but to save you some money try before you buy. next time your near tamworth, your welcome to experience mine!

Get some MT's as there easier to live with and will do 90% of what an extreme tyre will.

Yeah I have had diamonds before on my s11a truck and found to be an excellent tyre at the same time my bro had a set of insa sahara's on his s11a and I could get to places he couldn't but the diamond's seam to be getting hard to find but me and son both like the special tracks so want to give them a try :)

Well you wont need a horn, peeps will hear your tyres a mile away!

Ha ha yeah there is a guy near me with a showgun with special tracks on but are a very wide tyre on his a lot wider than you see on landy's and you can hear him coming for miles so will have to see what these are like :)

I got very similar tyres and they are very very loud! Although saying that in quite like it because it blocks outs the rattles :D

As long as you don't mind people staring, loads a noise and going about 2 mph round a corner they are fine

I have special tracks n mine they are hideous on road, not that i go fast but the noise is unbelievable and they are a very aggressive off road tyre that will break things in the drive train, it isnt a case of if its a case of when.

cracking for get through stuff but they dont give up they just grip and grip and grip which means something else has to give in the end.

I wish i had stayed with the BFG M/Ts i had before to be honest as the insas have cost me a lot of money in repairs and it just means when im getting into trouble i get further into it before something breaks meaning the recovery is usually 10 times harder, honestly great tyre for mud plugging but if its a road car as well think again.

Cheer's for the info yeah I think for long distance trips we mite keep the freestyles and fit a new set of A/T's to them as I know the specials ware out quick on tarmac but we will see :)

I'm surprised everyone's saying the hideous on road?
I have a set of standard road tyres 'generals' or something. And I have a set of insas 265/74/r16
And I've driven my landy fast in the wet round corners on both tyres. And found that I consistently had to go faster to get any understeer with the insas on - meaning they grip better.
I'm certain this is to do with the softer compound of rubber used in remoulds.

Now I've not had any A/Ts or anything so couldn't comment on what they are like (probably better than both my sets!).

So in my opinion, insas are fine handling wise on road, in dry, in the wet (and obviously the mud! 😃) but yes, they are flipping loud! And they wear out fast on road. :L especially with hard cornering! Haha
