Looking to get a range rover a classic most probably unless I can get a newer one for me money. Will prob have about £1200 or so to spend. I will b doing quite a few miles so am pretty keen on getting one with an LPG conversion on it. Whats everyones thoughts on that? Also what are the main things I need to check when going to look at one of these magnificent machines.

Cheers

check the same things you would as a normal car. IE steering play/brakes/suspension/electrics/oil/water temp on a run/gear changes etc and if its got gas who fitted it? and when was it last checked!!check front swivels for pitting/leaking.also check tail gates and the rest of the motor for rust!!cos there will be some of that lol ...just go over it and dont rush into it because your there with 1 infront of you..

Thats great guys
Where are the wirst areas for rusting on these? I heard the tail gates are especially bad? Are these expensive to replace?

dont let them start it until youve had a look. No matter how futhermucked it is you WILL buy it when you hear the 3.9 V8.

Believe me. I did. Last Saturday ! Oops.

he he yeah the sound is pretty nice! The same thing almost happened to me when I was looking at buying a new motorbike was looking at a Ducati V-twin with race cans on ot when the guy started my knees when weak :D:D

Luckily I have a straight 6 Jaguar and a V12 on the way so hopefully will b able to resist it on the noise alone :D:D
