Arite folks,
am currently considering buying a 1996 110 hcpu however I have a few questions for everyone. I'm 6"2 and am worried I won't be able fit in the cab. I'm also wondering what the actual fuel consumption is because no two places seem to say the same thing. Also, how much is road tax p/a on one of these.
Cheers for any replies!

If you're worried about leg room, buy some seat risers. They should help. As for the MPG, you should expect about 27 from a 300tdi if you drive nicely. To improve your mpg, fit a high performance / high air flow air filter and a staight through midpipe. This will give you both more power and more fuel economy at little costs and they are really, really easy to fit yourself. As for the road tax, i cant remember XD.

Expect around 25-30mpg, about £215 for 12 months tax.. I'm 6ft 1 or 2 and I have no problem but you can get seat risers from mudstuff which give you more legroom.

If you buy one, make sure you put some pics up :D:D

Hi,

I am also 6' 2" and have a 05 TD5 Defender 90. Whilst it's not exactly roomy in there, I am fairly comfortable.

I regularly drive between Suffolk and Surrey and have had no problems in terms of comfort. My 90 is completely stock - no seat risers or anything.

You should be absolutely fine.

Hi,

I have a TD5 1999 - 90 with no mods to the seats etc (yet) and I am 6' 4 with a long leg and I find driving ok even on a longish journey. I will be buying seat risers soon just to get that little bit of extra comfort.

I get 25 MPG and thats mostly country road driving....

Cheers
Jase

Fuel consumption is great. My 200tdi 110 gets about 220 miles from 40 quids worth of deisel. To put it into perspective my mini does 300 miles for 60 quids worth of petrol. So the landy is cheaper to fuel
by 2p per mile.

Edit: i do suffer with a heavy right foot ib the mini think most people do better than me.

At 6'6" I have no problems at all in my 110 hard-top, so with you being a bit more vertically challenged, you should have no worries. :)

6'4" and I found my 90 truck cab very uncomfy, which is essentially what you will be buying.

Being a truck cab you lose almost 2 inches of seat travel over a ht or sw due to the top of the seat overhanging the bulkhead, it cant overhang because of the rear of the truck cab!

Seat risers are no good as there is no seat travel anyway!

Have a good run before you purchase, hated mine, did my back in with being so cramped!
