You don't say whether it is manual or auto & what model it is eg ES, GS etc.

The biggest single issue with Discos is rust rust rust !!! The rest is just mechanno.

Check for rust under the boot floor by lifting the carpet and the rubber mat to get to the metal floor. There is every chance that moisture will have been trapped by the rubber mat and rust has started. With my wifes car there were holes the size of oranges in it !!

Next, check the rear passenger door-shuts, where the lock pin is (about halfway up the closing edge, there will be rust there.

Next, the sills, this requires you to get under the car and examine it carefully, using something like a small hammer and tapping the inner and outer sills to establish how solid they are.

After that it's on to the engine bay and the front inner wings, they rust out in the corners.

Re the oily bits check for leaks underneath from the engine, steering box, gearbox, transfer box.

Does it have full dealer service history? If not, seriously considor walking away.

I've bought 2 of these now and the difference between the one with good SH and the one with patchy SH is just enormous.

How much is being asked for this vehicle? If you respond quickly I might be able to guide you on the price.

Cheers
Dave
