Just looked at buying ex-demo TD4s 3 door,it's done 1100 miles reg. 11/04 & seem a good price at £16500(still in negotiations). So many people seem to dog the Freelander, that I'm not sure about pulling out this vast sum of money for something that is going to be unreliable.

The Td4 has proved to be the most reliable of the FL1 engines, over the years. Not everyone likes it but it's the preferred choice. That's a reasonable price but they're a lot cheaper now. ;)

Don't listen to him Annie, with an extra 13 year's experience he should know the L Series is the most reliable. The TD4's a decent enough engine and if its still available it'll be a decent car, but I'd haggle on the price, they might be willing to drop it now.

I was looking for something int basement and came across it. Yer never know they may still be looking and pop back.

I was going to buy the square ones but don’t know if they will rub on the strut..
If yer cut the corners oft they will be ok. Failing that Pirelli Scorpion STR would be my personal choice for a FL1. Just make sure they make them int right size for yer wheels or you'll need to tie wrap them on to get an air tight seal if they're too big. Or warm them up to stretch them over the rim if too small. Tis good advice that. ;)

Thanks hippo I might go for one of the bad fitting option as the tie wraps will help when the weather is bad or I could go for the stretched tyre would help with clearing the strut, decisions decisions :(
