Buying a new key for L322

Hi there
I have just bought a 2006 L322 3.6 TdV8 with only one key. Nervous that if I lose that one I am in trouble......what is the simplest/cheapest way of getting another key? I am guessing a main dealer will be expensive?

We had to go the main dealer for a new one for my dads 07 l322. £210 i think

You can programme them yourself but you need the right kit which is £300+ i believe.

I bought my mum/dad some Tile Trackers, never lost a key since!

I’ve deleted my original post as I think I was talking ****e - I think you can buy a key and program it yourself to start the car. A main dealer key will be about £150 but you may have options to buy a non dealer key and sync the alarm and pair the transponder. Sorry still not much help

Getting hold of and programming a new key diy fashion is fraught with problems and will probably end in expensive tears. Either go to a specialist or a Dealer. £200-£300 seems like a lot of money but alternatives could end up worse. Or, just take good care of the key you have. I only have one key for my freelander, I'm not particularly bothered about it.
