Buying a Discovery 2- high mileage

Hello, very tempted with a Discovery 2 and keen to hear if I'm barking up the wrong tree or could be on to a winner. Having helped nurture an M reg Disco 1 through to an old age of 250,000 miles, it eventually went to the tin can factory last year- RIP. I'm keen to see what a high mileage (130-150k) Disco 2 would be like as they're going for approx £1.5 - £2k on Autotrader at the moment which seems to be a lot of car for the money. Rotten chassis, problems with the air suspension and electrics seem to be a common issue- is there anything else that I should be looking for? Any tips greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

D2 are a very good motor. Main issue to watch out for is chassis rot, and to a lesser extent body rot, especially around the rear wheel arches.
My own preference would be the V8 Auto, but Td5 also have a following. Both are very good value now, especially the V8s.
Here is mine, which I bought for £1200 with a years MOT. I have now sold it, but ran it for 3 years, almost all on towing, with very few issues.

I wrote this a while ago, have a butchers in the link below. As said rear chassis , inside front wheelarches. for rot, plus check everywhere as per any other old car.

Welcome, thats not high mileage its hardly run in i bought one with 175k on runs sweet now after a bit of fixing up

Just got mine last week, 2003 with 185k on the clock. Have paperwork for head, gearbox service and sunroof replacement (to the tune of £900 :0)

But yeah chassis is a big one.

What fixing up needed doing? I don't want something that will be a constant struggle... happy to get my hands dirty as needed, but I'd expect it to be as trouble free as possible to be used as a reliable daily.

The normal stuff. Sunroof leaks, full service new head liner chipped by mike at dyno chips. It was a non runner when i bought it took all of 5 mins to fix.
Iv done a few other bits but thats just me, i will at some point replace the rear quarter chassis but no rush.
