hi all,

I’ve just finished cleaning, fibreglass filling and sanding my bulkhead vents.

Now for a question.

The rubber seal is somewhat of a trapezoid, which way in does it go for the best seal?

Largest surface in or out?

Cheers :)

My 1990 90 has them on the bulkhead. Yours look like rubber ones, where ever you fit them do not use the foam ones they trap water and promote rust.

The seal I bought sits inside the vent, it also sticks to the bulkhead.

My problem is which way does it stick to the bulkhead. It’s a trapezoid. I just need to know if it’s the large square side on the bulkhead or the smaller square side.

Sorry I’ll post better pictures tomorrow. Pub does not lend you to good posts.

It probably doesn't matter as long as it keeps the water out.
Is that a series 2? interested to see the vent mesh cos mine hasn't got it and looks like it never did, was it standard on series 2's?

On. My series 3 it looks like the seal is bonded into a dished recess on the bulkhead , I would guess the thinner side should bond to bulkhead to provide a wide seal for the cover plate I have the ones original I guess the material would need to be squashy to seal you
Can see the ridge on mine

I stuck mine on to the bulkhead with the smaller face showing so there's less chance of holding water. No fly screen for me, pretty sure that came later
