Anyone know if it is possible to get the digital clock out of its fixing to
change the bulb without having to remove panel + heater controls etc.

Thanks

Anything is Possible.
Practical, is another matter entirely.

In other words, dunno, I've not tried it.

Alan,
I take it your clock is to the left of the heater controls as it is pre 94,
the clock does come on it own, just insert a small thin screwdriver under it
and lever it out when it pops do the same at the top and out it comes, just
done mine today, I'll get the bulb tomorrow.

Thanks Mark - I ve had the bulb for ages jus was not sure how to get at the
clock for fear of breaking it. Bulbs for my disc are a bit of a problem
since my LR dealer doesn't hold much stock.

Cheers.
