Some **** ripped my RRC LSE auction chapter & verse right as mine came into the last couple of days. I
got a call from a feindly ebayer telling me. Mine looked like a feckin scam 'cos of it. I got a few nasty
mates to bid his up to £20k!!! It's not for sale anymore. ****er cost me an auction. He even used some of
my feckin photos!!!

I Like that matey, do you require a RRC LSE by any chance? I have mine just about to go back up due to a
total **** ruining it!

Your main problem is your lack of feedback & hi-res pictures i think.

Don't scrap it! I'd buy it but family (inc. twins) and a mortgage mean
I haven't got any money :-(

What are you actually after Simon? You have to remember that a lightweight is a niche car in any circles.
It does look a nice thing though!

I mean you need to display the pictures hi res on ebay, use the large picture option & use picture pack
etc.

If you want to take this to e-mail let me know as a decent LW could be on my list as I got a very black
ball on a 101 from the missus, even after showing her Martyns etc!!

well... how far short of the reserve is it?

You might be able to do a deal with the high bidder - that's what I did with
mine. Contacted the seller, and split the difference between his reserve
and my bid.

Depends if he really wants it.

Ouch. How very singular. You must be a fast mover....

no offence intended with this - but it got some decent bids, which
implies that your reserve is too high for ebay.

£1600 is a resonable amount for a vehicle (even if its not as much as
you wanted!)

From your comments about weighing it in, i was expecting bids of £50.
If you really want to get rid of it then accept less money for it!

One picture that size?

That may be your problem. Even for some customer on broadband that can
be large enough to be awkward.

Several pictures making up 800kb is less bad, but it can still be a
problem.

He was using the eBay picture service which automatically resizes the
photographs (and hence vastly reduces the file size)

I'll repeat my mantra here for web-use pictures...

crop the picture, then resize the result 'til it fits in an 800x600 window,
then save as jpeg with compression set to produce an output file about
100KB.

IME, a decent set of 800x600-is pictures, say about 6 or 8, showing any
major defects and also showing the plus points, works about right.
Personally, ICBA with listings a mile-an-a-half long with about 47 pictures,
half of which just look like a slightly different angle.

The other thing that puts me off is 2000x1500 sort of size pictures. My
browser doesn't re-scale automatically, so to see all the picture I have to
**** around, and when there are a lot of pictures ICBA. And i run a fiarly
high resolution of 1280x960. Yer typical standard flat-screen is 1024x768
these days, and that, in an app with borders and toolbars and so forth,
doesn't even give you a complete 800x600 window, often, so putting up
pictures much bigger than that is a waste of time.
