ive got 265/75 grizzly claws and i find them ok. i hear alot of people steer clear of remoulds due to them becoming mis-shaped over time and stuff. i dont know the ins and outs but im sure someone will be along soon to tell you how why and how crap remoulds are...

...they are cheap though ;)

there is nowt wrong with remoulds these days, the misconception comes from 20 odd years ago when skinflints put remoulds on fast cars and the got hot and fell apart. tyre development has come a long way since then and remoulds are as good as cheap new tyres nowadays ;)

Hi again.
I've just read the "mud- club" link, and I've had a very similar incident with a set of ROUGH-RIDER tyres. I'd had a rear tyre go flat, and when I got it off i did the usual, looking for the offending screw, no screw But i had noticed that the 10mth old tyre was split, almost half the "circumfrence" of the tyre, right through the thread and down to the wire, so I checked the others and then noticed that the side walls were starting to split.
I contacted BRONCOS sent them photos and they said it was accidental damage, the sidewall splits are Ok as they're just a venir, "as from Feb I belive the law want to hand out 6 points per tyre for damaged tyres..."
In Bronco's defense they did offer me a new Tyre at trade price..

hard to say aint it? could be rough use or a manufacturing fault.
YD is corect though. generally remoulds are pretty good these days.
they get a bad press cause peeps used to fit em and then drive off at 140mph.
heat is the killer for remoulds. and average use for a landy (esp a series) aint gonna heat a tyre up enough to warm yer hands.

correct slobbo, but then again, if he had a blow out it might change the shape of his boring old fashioned landrover and bring it up to date, oh and by the way spotty herbert, not all lorry tyres are remoulds

I am very fussy with tyres, and its a personal choice at the end of the day and i dont want to put them on my Landy!

Oh and how old are you Yella Disco? or are you jealous of sumit????????

Justa............Did you use your vehicle off road much or was it all on road, and do you think it was accidental wear. Though with a name like Rough Rider they should be up for just about any thing!

I have Rough Riders on mine, they are about a year old now and touch wood are OK so far, but will keep a closer eye on them.

I know Bronco had some trouble recently was it because of this sort of thing and have they got there act together now?

Grunt.. The guy that put them on only did 300 "roadmiles" on them, I've had it out greenlaning "essex byways" once, about 1200 road miles "local" and done a 2 sessions on a Farmers field, you can see this is backed up by the pic of the tread.. it's still like new,
I'm a fussy sod when it comes to tyres, stems from my days riding moto-x.. also my kids come out with me in the Landy.
I don't think I've done anything that would cause this to happen.. I've seen lesser tyres get more abuse and survive it..
