Hi I'm new to all this....My Freelander TD4 has a broken electric rear door window winder mechanism, The motor works when the switch is operated but the glass does not go up and down. There seems to be something wrapped around the mechanism that can be heard going round when the motor is operated ! (sounds like a cable wrapped around something).

How can i remove the mechanism and is there an easy fix for this problem ?
p.s. I don't have a workshop manual !

Hope someone can help me please...

mine stopped last night too,it was too late to sort out so,I duct taped a slit down both sides bin bag to the rear,I think during the summer or soon I'll make up a canvas blind, black of course, and is tied to the floor using straps, that is attached to the tailgate top trim and can be hooked to the tailgate.
In the light of day you'll find the sourse of the problem, take off tailgate liner and feel insidw the vertical wire guides you could have a broken wire or its justcome loose, very expensive to buy a new part, search here i saw a very good thread by a man called van der something, fixed his with bicycle brake cable and a screw clamp(small thingy),if I'd seen thatid have saved €300+.

On a different note ,Im far away from my haynes and **** be bothered trawling for the morning, when I need to be getting away.

my rear right lights are not working I usually check them regularly, dont know if thywent at the same time or if one fuse controls both,I will be doing a full clean ing of myfuse contacts sometime today.thanx in advance ChaseR. IF YOU CAN HELP!
