Has anybody had a chassis break on a 2003 discovery, mine went on tarmac and its scarey. Check your front nearside member for your safety. I did inform landrover but they were not interested as it is no longer under warrenty

At 17 yo why would you involve Landrover????? o_O
Of more interest would be how long it was since your last mot?
One might also assume you don't do your own maintenance and/or safety checks

Hello,

Interesting first post.

As D2s are known for having manky chassis that rust to hell not surprising really. What did you expect LR to do on a 17 year old motor?

Cheers

Hi and welcome!

That must have been a brown trouser moment! It’s usually the rear chassis that rusts so unusual to hear the front letting go. Has it ever been involved in an accident perhaps?

Not that unusual for rust there, there is a great mud trap inside the chassis just as it starts to bend upwards behind the front wheels.

Cheers

Bearing in mind where you live probably been boat hauling on the beach...Landrover dont want to know about problems on the new Defender never mind your 17yr old clapped out vehicle...and do please post in the relevent section...
