Series 3 Britpart bump stops

Evening all,

Fitted a set of Britpart bump stops to my rolling chassis project today, but they don't seem to fit well. Before you just say Britpart Sh*itpart, I can't see how a difference manufacturer would do these any differently, I'm wondering whether it's my chassis that is slightly off?

The fixing tabs on the stops are too far apart for the holes on the chassis, the rear I managed to get to fit fine by tweaking them in a vice, but the fronts just aren't having it.

This is the closest I got, where the rubber is sitting about 10mm from the plate on the chassis.

Any suggestions?

I had this exact same problem with these. As soon as I saw the thread title I had a good idea what the problem would be.

I cut some squares from 8mm thick rubber sheet and used those to fill the gap between the chassis and stop.

When the bump stop is up against the chassis its a terrible spot for corrosion. At least as they are water wont hold in there.
