Has anyone recently installed replacement Britpart brake adjustment snail cams?
I finally got around to replacing my rear brake shows and cylinders today as we had some reasonable weather. I removed the original snail cams as the bolt head on the back was completely rusted. This left no way to be able to easily adjust them.
The first Britpart one went on alright, but I managed to bend a couple of the bolts trying to do the second. It seems that they used the cheapest bolts they could get which are butter soft steel. With the way these things work, you have to tighten down the bolt to get the snail cam to bite onto the splines. However when I tried this it was unsuccesful and the bolts just bent.
Looking back, I wish I'd just left the old ones on.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with these?
