breather pipes hooked??

can one of you engineers ,tell me do the small breather pipe that run up by my snorkel have to be hooked,pointing down or is pointing up of no consequence much appreciate any thoughts TONKA

if you've taken them up to the top of the snorkel then it probably won't make any difference at all. but if still quite low pointing down mite help to stop water been drawn into them by forming an airlock at the top of the bend.
