There should be an exhaust mount that holds the down pipe that starts at the manifold to the straight away underneath the truck. Unless my exhaust down pipe is bent, but i don't think so.

The down pipe bolts directly to the side of the block according to my parts book , I do know however that there are two different exhaust manifolds for these engines and they are not interchangeable. I have both manifolds here.
When I put a new downpipe on my old engine I had to re-drill the bracket on the down pipe to line up with the fixing point on the side of the block.
I was told by the supplier that in the 40 years they had been selling parts they had never heard of such a thing.

The manifolds carry the part numbers ETC6282 and ETC7633. The notes say the only difference is the boss thickness and the downpipe has only one part number so either Land Rover fluffed up with the part numbers or they had a batch of oddball engines, something got fluffed up though.

Jake I dont live too far from you (Walsham le Willows), you are welcome to pop over and have a look if you like.

I might just do that, I have been rebuilding a 110 from about a year ago. Just need to hook up the rest of the engine and install the doors. I thought putting doors together would be easy, as if. Let me know if next week would work for you. Taking a week of leave from work, so i have some time.

The doors can be an arse to line up correctly if you have had the body off, it takes a lot of faffing. A car scissor jack either side under the front of the tub will allow you to make small adjustments by raising or lowering the tub on its brackets until it is at the right level, from memory all the other mounting points are none adjustable vertically and there is no adjustment horizontally so you have to move the bulkhead to close the gaps.
Next week is fine, drop me a PM when you are ready.
