Hi,

I have not got that much information but thought it was worth posting, a brand new 0 miles on the clock black Defender 110 was taken from outside Mark Smith Land Rover Maintenance workshop Bicester (Oxfordshire) on Sunday morning around 4am. They managed to bust the chains off the gates and take the Landy.

I was having my tracker installed there yesterday and was speaking to the guys there who told me of the theft.

If I can get more info I will update this post

Cheers

I'm going there tomorrow. I will see if there is any further info. This really is getting stupid.

Hi Defender90uk,

Spotted your post earlier... but only just got some time to post on here. My 110 was in there yesterday & today and having seen your post earlier I asked the parts/admin guy a bit more about it over the phone. Maybe he didn't want to say too much or indeed didn't know too much but the pinched truck had no more than 30 or so delivery miles on it. Guessing it must only have had standard factory security.

He did say the unit next door has CCTV and I got the feeling that the theft was captured on it. He didn't say any more about if it was towed/craned/driven away and if any of the faces were captured on the CCTV.

Hopefully Protractor can find out some more info tomorrow

Just been in there. Again, not much more info - but car sales are run by a different guy than the workshops.

It was a Black 90 (not 110) pickup with delivery miles only on the clock. There was CCTV as mentioned and the chap did say 'professional job'. I don't know how many perps were involved.

They bust a lock/chain to open the gates. He did not go into details of how they actually entered and took the vehicle.

TBH, if these scrotes are now breaking into garages, what hope do the rest of us have?

:(

Hi to all,

Sorry for posting is was a 110 and not a 90 I guess it was lost in translation between me and the guy telling me, there was lots of conversations going on at the same time. Still I am of the same opionion as some of you...what chance do we have if they are walking into protected premises with CCTV and still just taking what the heck they like....

I will correct my posting on Landywatch too.

Cheers

Not a worry - you alerted us to it. Monkey, I would guess that's the one as well. Probably in Mozambique or somewhere by now... or boxed ready for ebay or gumtree :(
