Hi,
Going to pick up my new toy/commuting/dog carrying Landy tomorrow.
Its a 1989 90 with a 300tdi engine.
Where can I go to find out what it can do without drowning it or causing me to go on the bus to work the next day.
I live in Huddersfield and am aware of an old disused mine just outside Wakefield.
Don't want to be embarrassed by my lack of skill in driving as this will be the first 4x4 I have ever owned, so could do with a quieter site. Is this the best option.

Thanks

Hi!

Wouldn't worry about embarrassing yourself in front of them, I had to ask a member today to reverse my 90 up a small hill. :D

Have fun!

There's two things you need to become aware of;
the capability of your Land Rover, which has the potential to be awesome, and

your capability, which can totally negate the first.

Have a look through the greenlaning section because you're ideally based for any laning that's happening on West or South Yorkshire, and even the Peak District (Dark Peak) is within your reach. Don't go alone and try and team up with a group who are happy to show you the ropes.

I presume the local mine you mention is on private land, so unless it's used by the landowner as a 4x4 site, then I would advise steering clear. It's a long drop if you drive into the wrong hole:D:D, and you would be trespassing.

Frickley was the one I was thinking of,

Thanks for the advice and I'll keep an eye on the site.

Picked it up today, uncomfy, smelly and slow.............I LOVE IT..:):)
