brakes

I fitted a new accumulator and I hear it pump every half a dozen or so presses. This is probably on the low side but at the moment I have sharp and rapid braking so leaving it to see how it goes. 30 / 40 sounds a bit unrealistic to me, unless someone knows different.

Hmmm half a dozen (6) seems to be what I get, if I recall correctly... Will try this week end again.

Thanks anyway!

PS : Shawn the Sheep is a nice success here in Japan as well!

No wonder, it features the coolest short wheelbase truck cab on the planet

Another day another lesson learned.

Land Rover said... your ABS Booster Pump is dead, go and buy one yourself since we do not make them anymore... Went to my now beloved Enthusiast Range Rover Garage and they fixed my brake (almost). So here you are the story.

Break not so good changed the accumulator and change fluid... 4 to 6 brake application and pump will run. Went to the new garage and explain them everything, they have a 2nd ABS Booster just in case, but they decided to check the system and found VERY OLD Brake fluid in it that turned into gum...

They cleaned the system and I was amazed by the difference until the problem came again on my way back with spongy brake and a "Clonk" noise coming from the pedal. Later yesterday I took the car for a spin again and the brake where almost back to normal or at least when they fixed it. I counted yesterday 14 brake applications before having the Brake pump running (on a single test). I assume that there are still some bad fluid in the system and I will check with them.
