Brakes problem on freelander

Hi - V reg Diesel bog standard Freelander...recently had rear brake drum replaced. last couple of days seem to have developed a further intermittent problem. This morning driving to work at approx 10 - 15 mph the rear brakes applied themselves and quickly released...no banging or knocking sounds (though I think I felt it more heavily on the passenger side). Then in the car park the rear brake seemed to be ok in reverse but was applying when moving forwards slowly. I had though when it happened the other day just in a car park I thought it might have been something to do with the ice and snow....

any ideas, raelly could do without another big bill as I also replaced the clutch a few weeks ago..

Either incorrect shoe adjustment or one of the 'pull off' springs is incorrectly fitted.

A common problem is a brake lining parting from the shoe.

You'd hope that the garage fitting the new drums would have spotted that!
