Brake pipe issue

Hello
I have a 300TDi Disco, the steel brake pipe from the drivers side flexi to the valve thing on the passenger side has corroded just as it enters the flexi hose.
So rather than take the whole pipe out how can I join it whilst still on the vehicle?
It looks to be a steel brake pipe.
It does look a fiddley job to remove the pipe unless you know different?

If you can flare it in situ, you could add a connector and a short length of metal pipe. I've got a little compact one that's good for working on pipes which are on the car, that looks a bit like this:

So would my pipe be metric or 3/16ths?

I'm not 100% sure about the Disco, but a lot of defender pipework is 3/16"

I've got the one Brown linked to but I don't think they will work on steel pipes tbh.

It says it'll do steel on the advert. I've used mine on some shiny silvery pipe successfully. I didn't happen to have a spectrometer on me at the time so I don't know exactly what it was made of, but I suspect there was something ferrous in the mix. Better than those cheap Machine Mart ones, anyway.

You are right! Just dug the instructions out for mine and steel pipe is ok, just says to remove any paint or other coating on the pipe before flaring.

Well pulled the old pipes out, just about to replace the with copper and fit two new callipers.
Complete set of new front pipes made from copper £12 from local motor factors

What a Saga, bottom calliper bolt was so rusted a socket wouldn't grip it, luckily I have a set of these.

Yup, the Irwin version is very poplar on here. The ones in your link look very similar with left hand thread flutes in the socket.
