110 vented calipers and discs..new pads.new calipers and new discs.(now 2000miles old)

pads have started to move in calipers..ie like they are not wide enough, this allows them to move in the direction of travel of the disc..though they are proper expensive ones and correct at fitment..

any ideas why and how to stop..the pads are held in place by 2 pins with a spring fitted between them that fits over the pin..

no effects to braking but they rattle around a right noise..(rattle rattle)

itsd like the pads require a retaining shim around them???

thanks

you can get shims ,its not an uncommon problem ,sometimes its just the pad set and another would fit better ,on some pistons retracted after braking leaving pads loose ,new pressure seals helps that

ok..i can see my self making some shims....

had same problem on my 4 door rangie (theses are on the 2 door rangie, using as a brake upgrade as 110 are 25%bigger)

to cure them on the 4 door i just very carefully and quickly welded extra on to the pads...but really didnt fancy doing that on these...

do you know where i can get shims..?they need to actually wrap around the pad sides.

or are there pads out there that dont have a slot where the pin goes through but a circular hole instead..that would stop the movement too...
using high spec trw pads at moment..

Does anyone happen to know the part no for the shims as I had a set in a previous 110 but have noticed that they are missing form my 110 county and it is squealing like a pig when I brake.

if there new they may run in ,it happens with some pads and not others with any brand usually cheapest are worst or with some ebc if not used hard enough
