First off been a while since I posted on here!

I'm Overhauling a Brake master cylinder I replaced to use as a spare and also to learn something from it. Seal kit was £3.60 from Paddocks so worth a shot at that price.

Its a Brake master cylinder for a 90" (NRC9592). I took the old one apart, cleaned it up and noticed there was a rust spot on inside of cylinder that had corroded the surface. If i run my finger over the area, it feels like its rough enough to wear the seals quicker than normal.

Would it be worth getting it re-bored out/smoothed or should I just chuck it? Roughly how much would you expect reworking the inside of the cylinder cost given I have no mates with suitable equipment to carry out such a task for a pint!

You would have to get over sized seals for it else it wont hold pressure if you hone it

I dont know if they are available
My mate told me you can have a stainless sleave fitted, Who, were and how much i dont know

Id say chuck it and get a good make new one , got to only be about £30

fairy snuff.

shame really, would have been good learning putting it back together. Fortunately all the pistons are in good nick so can keep them as spares.

Cheers
