Hi guys, I am preparing myself to replace all the hard brake pipes on my '54 L322 4.4 V8. Looks like a big job !

Obviously I will be doing a full fluid replacement (Castrol DOT4).

I am looking to replace the 4 flexible pipes (1 at each wheel) on the calipers while I am at it.

My question is, is it worth sourcing upgraded/braided hoses or sticking with the standard rubber ones ?

If it is worth looking at the braided variety, where do I find them and how much will I expect to pay ?

Many thanks from a mechanical newbie !

Quite a straightforward job. You can get 3/16 brake pipe and fittings from halfords. If you have not got a pipe fairing tool, I can recommend the Sykes Pickavant hand held flairing tool. It can do din and sae. I would go for braided hoses if you do a lot of hard braking.
