have a 2000 td5 decided to replace all the brake pads and whilst doing this also changed the brake fluid buy bleeding the system.now when pressing the brake pedal it slowly sinks to the floor.i think the master cylinder has failed due to age .now if i have read right you need to switch the abs on if the system is opened between the master cylinder and the abs unit to bleed the brake system is there a way round this or do i need to purchase a nancom unit .and does anybody no where i can get a new master cylinder from prices quoted .lucas new 180 pound .maindealer 270 pound . many thanks
 
Not sure about your problem mate but for spares the below was posted a while back, drop them a line at Rimmer Bros. they are fairly good at coming back with costs etc

You need Nanocom or Testbook to open the valves in the ABS block if you are doing a full bleed.

You can clamp a flexible hose and change a caliper and then bleed that line out without a need for a Nanocom or Textbook.
