Brake discs

Full set front and rear Pagid £142 inc VAT or Brembo £159 inc VAT at Europarts today.
Which would you go for!!
Any suggestions for better choice/price?

I fitted Brembo pads and discs to my daughter's Ka last December, had to remove pads on one side last month to free them off and add a bit of copper grease to both sides as they were binding. Discs are wearing quite rapidly. I usually see two sets of pads to one set of discs, I think the Brembo discs will be worn out soon. My wife has an identical Ka, I fitted Pagid discs and pads earlier this year (April I think), they are wearing and working normally. Time will tell which are the better set, but thus far I would bet the Pagid were the best buy. (I got both sets from Eurocarparts, price was pretty much the same).

I fitted pagid brakes from euro car parts about 15months ago - no issues since whatsoever, seem to be barely wearing tbh

Pagid discs on mine, cheap as chips and no issues.

I'd fit Brembo discs calipers and pads as a matched set to anything going fast ... so not Landrover based ...

So 55/60mph isn't fast then???

Does in a Series or Defender ....

I can't understand why discs wear out so quickly, they never used to. Either the disc steel is poor quality or the pads are too good for the disc. I tend to avoid sintered pads cos I think they accelerate disc wear.

I have always used Mintex pads and discs on the front and Mintex shoes and drums on the rears.
None better!!

Since the banning of asbestos in brake pads / shoes, the material they're made from is harder ... it's better now than it used to be when they first changed ...

Many garages 'point out' that the lip left by the pad is a sign of wear, when there is still lots of meat left on the disc thickness ...
