I'v seen worse than the top picture, but the bottom pic takes some beating.
Brit part. No chance there is rust showing on them. There stuff does not last long enough to produce rust.
Does the disk still have any life left?

lucky I don't have any pics of my push bikes disks. If I have a bad day with mud you eat a set if pads in less than 10 miles & your metal on metal.
Ceramic pads are too hard. I would have to update my aluminium disks. More costs.
Brakes are evil.
I have changed these while out on big rides I get used to the squeal and stop/change before the next descents.
Shimano disks with B01s resin pads
This is what my bike looks after 20 clean miles.all Chalk tracks round here & are like cutting paste this time of year with plenty of standing water to ride through.

I only buy genuine pads/disks
I have updated big 110 calipers on the front & disco disk on rear.
There are some good sintereed pads. Time to get searching
Fitted with Non vented & non drilled disks & this motor was built to tow & move heavy weights. 20+ years & I can't complain with my landy brakes and some of the dodgy farm trailers I have moved.
I,ve MOT'd a car with one disc like that .......the brake pad had worn that bad it had actually gone completely and the braking ( such as it was ) was being done by the caliper piston on what remained of the disc , Oh and it wasn;t an old car either
Used to have good discount at Landrover dealer.
Pulled the owner out of a ditch when racing. They have now sold out so discount finished. Use local motor factors for brakes.
Any info on disco3 Forum for brakes?
Too much electronics on these motors for me. Like it simple
