So I picked up a bargain set of +2 braided hoses at Newbury yesterday.

I got the 5 hose set as I knew the front calipers on my non ABS 93 disco had two hoses each and the fifth is the single rear hose.

Once I got home I found that there is another version of the 5 hose set up that has flexi hoses with double female ends (THIS is the correct set) for each of the fronts but the set I got is pre 92 with double male ends.(THIS is what i got)

Can I use one of THESE double female connectors to join the flexi hose to the pipe on the inner wing?

I will be replacing the short bit of pipes from the flexi to the caliper so can make that up with the correct fitting to suit

Anyone have any advice?

Personally I would not add joints into a braking system, to 'bodge it'

Change the pipes all the way through with correct ends on make a much better job for the cost of a bit of pipe and some joints
fronts are easy to change any way

As long as the joints are good connections then it should be fine. As before I personally would go with the right pipes, less joins = less potential of failure. Also with brakes it's not the kind of thing to take a chance on. Stick the ones you have on eBay and put any money you get from them towards the correct set.

Cheers for the input fellas.

I have no intention of bodging it, I totally agree that brakes are not the place for a bodge..

I will be replacing the short rigid pipes from the flexi to the caliper anyway but it was this joint I was thinking about using the double female fitting on

As you can see the current flexi is a female joint. but the new flexi is a male end.

If I have too I will replace the pipe back to the master cylinder but thought I might be able to use the double female instead.
