Hi guys, everyone makes it look so easy but nobody mentions hows best to add new mounts or remove the old ones! The old mounts were rotten and took ages to remove. Poor access I couldn't get the grinder in.

Managed to remove those the sills cut and grinded back few tweeks and the box section will fit in place. The mounts however if I weld to the box section wont go up and over the outrigger.

I think id have to bolt the new mounts on put the box section up and weld it on that way but then the access is poor and ill melt the rubbers with the welder. How do people do it? I have new mounts from YRM.

I've looked and looked and seen now that people cut the old sills right to the top and seam around the door pillars and puddle weld the top. Is that ok for an mot? The sill wont need seem welding around the top? Also the bottom of the arches ive cut out for access to the body mounts and the sill comes out slightly, will they need replacing or are they ok to leave out for the mot?

I used the eazy on mounts when I did my box section sills, just hack them off, assemble and fit the mounts to the outriggers, might pay you to prepaint them then offer up the box section and clamp up.not a bad job to do

I just done both of my sill with box section.I cut off both inner and outer sills leaving about an inch as a channel.Made my own replacement mounts then once all cleaned up puddled welded the box section in and seam welded all along the sill that i had left in both inner and outer.Just tacked the new mounts in place after lining up then welded them in properly in situ.
