Hi All,

So when checking under the bonnet today for oil - when i closed it and gave the final push down for it to fully close, it took more than a few attempts for to go down.

Any suggestions what I can do, so I'm not spending 15 minutes trying to close it properly!

P.S. The latch works fine!!!

The bonnet catch is adjustable. It's a spring with a threaded center that screws into the bonnet and is held in place with a 1/2 (or lock) nut.
There are also 4 bonnect rests (with rubber hats) that also screw into the bonnet, these have a 13mm nuts, locking them in place.
The bonnet rests land on the slam panel and these rests can also come loose.
Often the rubber hats perish and come off upsetting the balance.

What I do is remove the bonnet catch and spring, loosen the lock nuts and screw the bonnet rests in.
Then I close the bonnet and adjust the rests so that the bonnet is level and not touching the wings, the gaps are even and it 'looks right'.
Then (after tightening the rests), I refit the bonnet catch and adjust it's length so that it catches in the latch when I push the bonnet down far enough to just start to compress the rests rubber hats.

If you are still having troubles, the female side of the latch is also adjustable and can be moved side to side and front to back.
The catch needs to settle down into the latches hole without moving the bonnet sideways.
That's a bit more tricky to get right, but when you do the bonnet closes schweetly ....
Just to complicate matters there are different catch springs available too ...

Hope that makes sense and sorts out your problem.

Thats great advice - thank you. I'll give that a try this weekend, though I may giv you a shout if struggling on here if thats ok?
