Bonnet help!!

The bonnet pull lever is broken in my discovery td5, had been like this since I bought it! However, I've got some mole grips on the cable and it usually opens fine.

Came to open this morning and no matter how hard I pull it will not open, the cable is not moving inside the black outer. Now, last weekend went off roading, got stuck in deepish water, lay on the bonnet to connect rope to winch bumper to get pulled out. I'm not a heavy lad so not dented bonnet but think it could be related to that or the water.

How can I get the bonnet open?

You have to pull harder on the cable and get someone to push the bonnet down at the same time. We've just had Philip's release break in France, so we got it open by using something to pull the cable, then drilled out the rivets holding the security box over the lock.

mine did this. I had to get someone to wiggle the bonnet up and down whilst I was gently pulling on the cable. as soon as its in the right place it will pop up with ease. don't try pulling hard or you'll just make matters worse.
