Freelander 1 Bonnet Cable Release - cable grease?

Hello All,
is there any way to get some cable grease into the cable for lubrication, as it doesn't open well when pulling the lever?

You want to use oil, and a cable oiler is the easiest way to get oil in.

Use a spray can of 3 in 1, or a small syringe to inject thicker oil.
