Hello,

Just wandering if anybody knew of such a thing as a complete rubber seal kit for re-attaching the body work / doors on a series 3..I know you can by most seals by the metre, but just to ensure I don't forget any needed, was wandering if there such a thing as a kit?

If not (highly probable..) does anyone have a rough idea how many metres of each seal will be needed? I'm back at uni at the mo, but need it all ordered up and ready for when I get back to finish the body work and get it back on the chassis.

Many Thanks,

Matt

Hi mate,

Not sure if you can get the kit, but here i have a link for you to try; these are one of my local Ex-MOD specialists, they are very helpful:

P.A. Blanchard & Co. : Ex Military Landrover Specialists, Trailers, Ex MOD Spares, Surplus Stores & Equipment

Try it; should take you straight to the door seals.
All else fails, try giving them a call; explain what your after and they'll know where to point you in the direction of and no doubt have it for you.

Please let me know how you crack on???

The Series 1 80" on there which is now sold for £695 looks in really good nick, i would have actually been tempted!

You could just call in at or ring up Paddocks and say ' i need all the seals for a series 3 door' - i've called in several times and always really impressed with the counter guys knowledge, you just start explaining really badly what you are trying to do or after and 30 seconds later he re-appears with exactly the right bit!

if you're not concerned about originality you can use 90/110 one-piece seals which fit reasonably readily (some folk grind the lip off the flange but you don't need to), they look a lot neater, and last time I bought a set they were about £12 a side. You'll need to do a bit of trimming around the lock and the windscreen hinge.
