Hi Guys

I have taken delivery of a bonnet and driver side front and rear door for my 95 disco in metalic blue, BUT they are the wrong colour blue, I think the ones I ordered from the scrap yard are midnight metalic blue, I only want my money back and so if you need them give me a call on 07990 543290 or in the mean time I have put them on ebay.

If any of you guys have the correct colour for sale please call me and I will buy them from you, also if you have the wrong colour and want to swap please call. Once I have the right ones on my car there is a free and bonnet and doors here with paint damage that are free to collector. Im based in shropshire.

eBay.co.uk: Land Rover Discovery metalic Blue bonnet and doors (item 130069037098 end time 24-Jan-07 17:24:54 GMT)

There is a plastic coat on the bonnet and the doors thats come off, thats why I want to get new ones........

Happy to pay 25 quid to anyone that can get / find me a bonnet for that sort of money, pop yer bonnet where your mouth is

you can have half of my disco for 525 quid!
bonnet and pass door nearly perfect. drivers door a bit scabby.

ps, you gotta buy both halves.

if anyone wants a bonnet and two front doors iam breaking a light blue metalic 3 door............

£10 each, sorry they dont come with gold plated handles tho :D

When you next walk into a breakers yard do not take your white stick & guid dog with you & take someone that can see clearly & isn't coulour blind then you will not get stung! I bet them lads that sold you them parts had a good crimbo!

Another good evening's entertainment as ever - Thanks Yella! Someone certainly saw him coming! Why one earth wouldn't you check on eBay first to check out the going rate?? - made worse by the fact they he's obviously aware of buying/selling parts on eBay as that is where he's chosen to dispose of them!!

I notice a deathly silence from gpz - I assume he's contacted you privately to send the £25 over to you!

No still here fella, The problem with ALL the doors on ebay is the colour, you cant simply respray the ones I need as they have a plastic coat on them. I need a perfect colour match. I have used breaker line and the only match I can find is from a breakers that want 525 quid and im not paying that! Having ran my reg number into the internet the only thing I get about my car colour is metalic blue, it seems however that metalic blue is a general term and there are many many shades of this colour.

There is a sticker (or plate - can't remember now) under the bonnet that will tell you your exact colour code which you can then look up on the Internet.

All metallic paints have a "plastic coat" as you put it - it's a clear lacquer to make the underlying metallic paint glossy because metallic paint isn't in itself glossy like flat colours. I don't see what that's got to do with you not being able to re-spray it tho - maybe I'm being thick? If you can't spray over the metallic ones for whatever reason, why not just buy a flat colour and have that re-sprayed?

Thanks matt, I will nip outside and get the number off the plate, I didnt know that, really cool advice
