blown turbo damage to engine

the missus was overtaking when she got a sudden los of power. there is now a whistling sound when engine is revved. i have checked the turbo hoses and they are not punctured or torn i am not getting loads but some black smoke from the exhaust but there is oil and very small bits of metal debris in the hoses. the whistling is coming from the turbo itself. i also have a P0224 code:- throttle / pedal position sensor / switch b circuit intermittant. dont know if the last bit is related.

i have been quoted the best part of £1000 to replace the turbo but the guy said that there is a good chance debris has entered the cylinders. is that correct and if so what can i do about it.

any advise would be most appreciated

My turbo has blown on Td4. Im going to replace turbo and exhaust system and intercooler and hoses, drain the remainder of the oil and change the filter and hope this cures it. Send me a pm and i will give you the number of someone to ring who i got a turbo off for 80 pound! there is no gauruntee as he breaks td4s but everything is turning in it and it looks good. ive got all parts for £350. just got to fit them
