Blown 2.5 TD

Hi, I have a 2.5 TD engine that has dropped a valve seat and I have tried selling it on eBay, here and the local papers and I have had no interest. It has pretty much all the ancillieries I think but it is defo missing the starter and turbo. The injection pump, water pump and radiator are all in good condition according to the mechanic that swapped the engines over. So basically I am wondering if I would actually make anything off this or should I just take it to a scrappy and get what I can from them.

See if an engine refurb company would buy it.

Would have thought most people lookin for an engine would be after one that works

why not take the ancillaries off and sell em seperate

Yeah I would think most people want one that work as well but I thought someone might of wanted it for spares or even to refurb. I was trying to avoid breaking it all up as I have enough on without doing it but if that is the only way I am going to make any cash I suppose I am going to have to.

I've got one of them in my 110. Problem is that engine's got a bit of a reputation for being **** so nobody wants to fit one as an upgrade from praps a 2&1/4 and anyone who's got one already is looking to stick a tdi in when it dies. I'd take the good bits off and stick em on ebay then take the rest to your local scrapper.

Thanks for the advice guys that is what I thought I was going to have to do but I was kinda hoping I could just get rid of it without taking it all apart.
