blowing fuses

Hi,
I have a defender 90. 2000 model td5 the bugger keeps blowin the fuse for the indicators, and when you trying using the indicators the trailor light stays on and there is no flash left or right. I have just replaced the hazard light switch although i got it of ebay it looks brand new BUT you never know..........

if the problem was not there before you replaced the hazard switch then thats the problem

if not then its blowing the fuse because a live is going directly to ground somewhere on that circiut your gonna have to look for a break in the live somewhere check the bulbs also i have know people to change a bulb in the past an get crap in the socket that conducts straight across the contacts causing the fuse to go soon as power is put to it

the old switch was knackered, but now that i've replaced it the fuse keeps blowing leaving me with no indicators. So i dont know which way to turn. No seriously its doing my f........g head in

check you've wired up the switch correctly and that there's not a terminal touching the metal switch surround.

problem solved the flasher unit relay had gone due to someone putting the wrong ampage of fuse in.
