okay - so after hearing some clunking going over bumps this week I finally had a chance to look. After realising that the bracket on the rear cross member for the exhaust had snapped I thought I would quickly wrap some wire and have a look at it in more detail. Now remembering that I've only had it a few months and never had a need to jack it up - I thought I would quickly take the tire off and have a look. I get the jack out and it wont go in the hole...spend a good hour clearing the rust out of it to get it to fit - finally doing so started jacking it up....

long story short - it twisted and bent...the whole jacking point on the rear cross member. So I'm going to have to get this sorted.

I was thinking of doing it myself as I have a mig welder but am wondering if there is anyone in Edinburgh that would be recommended? I was going to order a heavy duty one in the next couple of days.

Any thoughts on a recommendation in the Edinburgh area? Alternatively - anyone local that is interested in helping :)

Cheers,

If you value your landy and plan to keep it try contacting Clive ('pressbrake' on here) He makes the best around. Need to be quick as I think, he was planning on closing his business down end of March but i think he has extended an extra couple of weeks.
