hi, problem is the water is pumping out of the header tank cap after on 300tdi disco 95'.

has just had done:
head skim and headgasket, 3 hole
new water pump
new thermostat

whilst driving after bleeding out water system heat can be found coming steadily out of the heater matrix in the car, after around 10 mins the matrix goes cold, indicating to me that the circulation has stopped/not getting to the matrix. same occurence after flushing and bleeding system good few times.

stop the car and check the header tank is pushing lukewarm water out. engine is at operating temperature and indiacting so on the gauge.

the bottom half of the radiator is stone cold and top half u cant put your hand on it. water is not present in the top of the engine at the top bleed point but is overflowing at the header tank.

is this a blocked radiator? or a combination of that and other things?
am i correct in thinkin that its not the heater matrix cos thats giving me good heat when i have circulation.

have tried flushing coolant system using radflush twice now and same problems.

opinions please?

much appreciated, thanks.

think you still got air lock. put heater on hot full on blowers from start, leave top off and keep toping up slowly, l just done mine took about a hour

thanks mate.

seems to be working ok, not pushing out anymore, flushed the radiator.

still not got the heater matrix fully bled tho... keeps goin hot n cold but engine temp still ok.

cheers

I have the same problem .I suspect a head gasket leak into water system.Head gasket is off but no conclusive proof seen .Some one here has suggested a domestic radiator bleed ssystem will replace thermstat air bleed to allow running engine bleeding .Will tyr this next
