Holy ****, wonder if I can fit an Orlikon on me RRC?

BTW, the Deltic went past today, Jesus H Christ on a bike, it's (they actually, as one front & rear) are
louder than me!

it has a EWB or something similar type brand name on it & it's dark red & dark cream in colour,
towing/pushing loads of cement wagons etc.

If Your specification is vague or imprecise, you'll likely get what you
asked for not what you want

EWS, probably. English, Welsh and Scottish. And I seriously doubt it's a
deltic, there are only about 6 of 'em left and not all of them are running.
They're mostly used for railtours and the like.

links further down, an' all.

from the Deltic Preservation Society site:

"In addition to the three locos owned by the DPS, another three Deltics
escaped the cutter's torch in 1982. 55002 'The Kings Own Yorkshire Light
Infantry' became part of the National Collection and was exhibited at the
National Railway Museum, York. since then it has been partially overhauled
by Brush (Loughborough) and after a sojourn at Wabtec (Doncaster) awaiting
completion of repairs it is was moved in June 2004 to the DPS Depot.

55016 'Gordon Highlander' and 55022 'Royal Scots Grey' were purchased from
BR by the Deltic 9000 Fund, which later became Deltic 9000 Locomotives Ltd.
In 2004 55016 was sold to a private owner and moved to Tyseley while 55022
went to another new owner and is currently located at Hornsey depot. Like
55009 and 55019 both 55016 and 55022 have seen service back on the main line
use in recent years, although the latter is currently out of service
awaiting generator repairs. Both locomotives also await fitting of TPWS
before they can operate on the main line again.

In addition to the locomotives the DPS own the Number 2 end cab from 55008
mounted on a low loader. The cab has been recently restored by DPS
volunteers and converted into a train simulator for the NRM's Railfest 2004
event. Also saved is the Number 1 end of 55021 which is in private
ownership"

Oooh, look: a page full of MP3s of diseasel engines. now where's me anorak
got to?

http://www.brdw.co.uk/sounds.html

you'll want class 55 for deltic sounds... D9019-1 is quite a good'un.

If your freight locos are indeed EWS, then they're as like as not to be
class 66s, although I think they have some class 47s as well.

"Austin Shackles" <[email protected]> wrote in message

well, it's not a deltic, but it looks very similar & sounds like one too from the MP3 file.

Never heard anything like it apart from Concorde taking off at LBA (we live a few miles away!!) a few
years ago!

Sorry about the heads up for nowt! BTW, send me some or link me to some loco pics & I'll tell you which
it is.

You ever been to the NRM at York? It's superb, you really do realise just how big these things are! The
bullet train is just huge. I took my (then) 3 year old daughter to a Thomas the Tank Engine day &
remembered just how good the museum really is!

Saviem 4x4 minibusses . Only problem is their prices are off the wall, the
same sort of stuff is available in France for a fraction of the price
www.lys-tout-terrain.com would probably do some similar stuff much cheaper,
or point you in the right direction. Ideal for popping into Caerfyrddin for
a few groceries.

255HP - it's a bit under-powered.

I suppose 8 RPM makes up for it (and I don't mean revs...)

It happens occasionally, here in Lincolnshire, but I get more than
enough funny looks with the Lightweight in supermarket carparks, and it
takes up less space on the ground than any of the Mercs and Beemers.

Defenders are narrower than Ford Galaxies, VW Sharans, Seat Alhambras
and Fiat Multipla ('squashed-frog' in our family), all of which are
favourites with the 'townie' mentality*.
