spent a nice few hours yesterday going over all four calipers, re-greased the slide pins and just a basic clean up, painted them red too, i was very pleased and then a brake pipe went pop!
a metal one that hides behind the o/s/r wheel arch liner, goes from front at lower bulkhead to rear axle flexy's.
going to replace both as there in a state corosion wise!

any thing special to look out for when bleeding brakes on a range rover?

just one of these pipes from land rover is £105!!!! i got 25ft of pipe for £11 and a flaring tool!

il change all the pipes from the 2 connectors at lower bulkhead back!

Hello. I replaced the brake pipes on my p38 the other day and it is a reasonably straight forward job. I put a bit of plastic under the brake reservoir to stop the fluid all leaking out of the disconnected pipes. To bleed the brakes all you have to do is connect a piece of pipe to the brake nipple, place it into a jam jar of brake fluid, crack open the bleed nipple, start the engine and apply slight pressure to the brake pedal, the abs pump will then pump fluid through the pipe. Have somebody watch the jam jar and tell you when the bubbles stop. Shouldn't take more than a few seconds per wheel. Hope this helps.

right! this is what i was asking! so you dont have to actually pump the pedal? just apply pressure to "switch on the pump" so to speak.....
thanks for that bit of info!

i was expecting a night mare job! what a good day i had, from start to finish it took 2 hours!
no problems at all and it wasnt that hard threading the pipes through the space between chassis and body either.........
