Tried re spraying one of my alloys today to see how it turned out and I think it looks alright :D check it...
Firstly you need to thoroughly clean and degrease, and I mean THOROUGHLY!!

Now we all know what a standard alloy looks like well this is sanded down with 600 then 1500 and grey primer applied...

After three lightly layered coats to build it up I added the black...

Again building up the layers slowly and progressively to avoid any runs in the base coat...

Then the clear coat to give it that nice finish and protect the wheels from getting destroyed the first time I throw her through a bush or a deep puddle...Still tacky right now even an hour after applying, I also have a nice thumb print in the clear coat so when it goes hard there will be some good proof the tyre belongs to me if it gets nicked;D

In hindsight I was a little sparing with the black, I should have given it another full coat but in my defence...The light was hitting it at the wrong angle and I forgot to turn it when applying the black:rolleyes: Oh well bound to get it right on one of the next 7 wheels lol
Im also aware of the damage to the alloy but I couldnt be bothered to grind it out and primer fill the bastard...ITS A LANDROVER!!!

What a great idea .. spray a 'hidden' bit, let it get tacky then thumb print it, then clear coat it .. or just clear coat and thumb print .. Love it!!

;)
