Hi guys

last weekend my mate and i fitted a de-catt pipe to his 300tdi manual d1 then later went out in it for a run, anyway during the drive it kept chucking out black smoke then seemed to clear and only do it every now and then, after a week its still doing it and he is panicing about it when we replaced the egr valve with a plate and new top intercooler pipe we noticed the inlet manifold was pretty thick with gunge and the intercooler was a bit oily inside but as we didn't have the time or the gaskets to remove them and clean out we left them as they where and plan to do them at a later date,

is it still smoking due to the inlet manifold and intercooler needing to be cleaned out any ideas.

Mine chucked out the worst pile of crap i ever saw when i decatted her, i almost shat myself.

Luckily it stopped after 20 miles or so, only get a little chuff now on startup or when i push her a bit hard on the pedal.

Black is over fuelling??? Was the pump tweaked with the cat fitted?? Maybe its too high now??

hi dave
no it hasn't been tweeked but has only done it since fitting the new de-catt pipe, how would i go about tweeking it back if it has been tweeked in the past, but the car felt quite quick even before the de catt pipe was fitted with no smoke and would it slow the car down by tweeking it back.
