Black Friday deals for the workshop

All this Black Friday stuff does get on my nerves a bit, but there are some decent deals to be had.

I'm tempted by;

Halfords Advanced Professional 200 Piece Socket and Ratchet Spanner Set - £125 (normally £300)

Halfords Advanced 3 Tonne Ratchet Axle Stands - £15 (normally £30)

that socket set seems a marketing ploy, I have that set and that's about what I paid last year and it was nowhere near xmas when I got it.

very good set btw, well worth £125

Yeah the socket and ratchet spanners are regularly on half price offer both together and as separate sets.

Sockets good on bolt heads, some are shallow if it's a nut and bolt thread is a bit long

The socket sets are wildly priced and go on sale totally randomly. Seen the same kit go for as low as £90 and as high as £300 with everything in the middle!

Now those axle stands! Think ill grab myself a set!

You won't at my local halfords because ive been down and they don't sell them 'but we do have these non-discounted ones in stock, sir'. Typical.

Managed to get the spanner set I am impressed at £40

Went into Halfords today - want a dashcam. After standing around for 10 minutes nobody seemd interested in serving/helping so I walked out. Bunch of lazy, bone idle twaats. Wouldn't pay them in washers.

You are doing it wrong, if you just go in to take a look at something you get interrupted by the staff every 5 seconds

They managed to not have the axle stands in stock when I popped down my local as well. Weird that!

I always reserve online first, that way you can walk in go up to the counter and pick stuff up without chasing about for staff, also saves the wasted journeys. Not sure how it would be with black Friday deals if they would allow you to reserve and honor the price when its in stock, but I have reserved things and found when you pick them up the price I have reserved at is way below the in store price but I just pay what it says on the e-mail sent to confirm the reservation.

I walked in to my local Halfords and picked up the axel stands no problem. They had a good few boxes on the shelf too.

If you bring a print out/screenshot showing the price online they will match the price.
