It was groanin.. wishin it wus a ferrari !!:D :D

My 2004 TD4 does it now & again, sounds bloody awful but from reading other forums it's quite common, I've got the Mantec sump guard fitted which doesn't help apparently because the front is bolted to the monocoque & the back is bolted to the subframe. Mine does it when accelerating as well, it can go for a week or so without doing it then creaks like my artheritic knees for a few days. I think it is probably the anti roll bar bushes but I aren't too worried because it isn't getting any worse.

Wouldn't worry if it's just happened the once, might be worth looking at if it starts happening more though.

well iv only had it a week and i only noticed it the other day but i think its doing it everytime i de-accelerate now at around the 50 mph mark, could it be some of the bushes or is it diff or ird or something, cheers james

James,

Has a similar noise from my 2002 TD4. Paranoid that the ird was noisy!!

Ran it in to the garage and they ran it whilst on the ramps and diagnose the prop shaft bearing (front). Replaced both of them (there is one at the front and back of the VCU) and now its quiet again, must have been going for a while as its quieter than ever now.

Worth a look i'm sure.
