Hello folks,

I have recently purchased a vehicle A Disco 300 tdi does anyone have experience of Bio fuels for the Disco and or Production knowledge?
There does seem to be an awful lot of information that conflicts on this topic.

No personal experience, but one or two forum members are experimenting with the stuff as we speak. Check out Ming's "Vedgey Gaylander" thread.

what kind of price are you buying the bio diesel at the pump? any one know of any where in the Berkshire area as normal fuel is going the wrong side of the pound line here!

are they just normal garages like BP etc, I have only seen one place that sells it at about £1 pl in Oxford. There is just no benifit in that except the enviromental.

Have a look on ebay. Some happy punters are banging it out in 200l plus quantity at 80p per litre. Some deliver some don't. Dependent on when you hit the site i have seen it for sale in Derby, London, Liverpool,Welwyn and Portsmouth etc. I am sure that will be more.

Just find a local chippie they have ta pay ta get rid of it and just filter it to bout 10 microns and mix it with yer diesel , i'm doing this with my gaylander up ta 25% now no problems at all runs better as well next month gonna up it ta 30% gonna try and hit 40%before winter. . . .:)

If you were to run a higer percentage in winter do you need to add anything like anti freeze in the mix?
Not sure if ya just on a wind up James, or just dont know,so will take it that ya dont know, in the winter running with a mix is a problem,as the vedg bit tends ta stay gloopy and not mix as good as summer ,hence as ta run above 30% ya have to heat it up before it hits the high pressure pump , there are a lot of different ways to get this , however that is the problem and no you would never ever use anti freeze, and if ya already knew that then yer just being naughty. . .. . .:)

I did not know, I know they change the normal diesel mix in the winter for similar reasons, I was not sure about the vedg.

Still I need you find an outlet where I can get some.
