Bike carrier

I've done a search and it didn't come up much of any use before you all tell me that.

Just bought a new mountian bike and rather than just bouncing it into the back of the disco I wanted to get a carrier to mount on the tow ball.

Now that should be easy I hear you say yes but because I own a car with a spare tyre on the door the price jumps up but from what I can see from the pictures on the net the build quaility seems to drop and they look flimsy.

Hopping that some of you have a good carrier the you could recommend.

You got roof bars? If so the plate that goes on them is a much cheaper option.

Didn't want to use the roof bars because I'll either forget I've got the bike up there and drive under a low bar or slip putting the bike up there and scratch the motor.

I use one of these for my Trials motorbikes, but it also works well for the mountain bikes ...

get any type of car bike carrier for a normal car that goes on the bumper/window ect ect cut off all the straps. then ratchet strap it to your spare wheel

i got second hand one for a tenner and its great

I like my bike rack... think its far better than any you've come up with so far

least with boydys "rack" you know when the bike has fallen orf - cos the sound of metal scrapping on metal stops

i used about 60 foot of rope - didn move on any of the 1200 miles done like that!
