BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres

I fitted a set of 4 BF Goodrich all terrain's on my 04 Freelander but have been advised they could damage the transmission

Anyone else fitted these or know if there is any truth in this?

according to the other threads you are ok if you change all four at once, if you replace one or two it somehow does something to the transmission

Advised by whom, exactly? Presumably no one who has a clue?

We have two Freelanders. One is a 1998 and has done over 100,000 on BFG ATs. The other is a 2002 and has a set of ATs for occasional use.

No transmission problems to report.

To promote even wear, you need to inflate them to six psi more than you usually fill your tyres. So our 2002's road tyres are 30psi (sometimes 32psi) and our BFG ATs are at 36psi.

Mrs wizards 98 freelander is due a set of tyres. She also wants BFG AT. i was thinking of putting on a set of 215/75 instead of the 195/70 on at the moment.
has anyone put this size on ?

I was advised by a experinced Landrover mechanic to allways put new tyres on the rear of a Freelander,

Certainly when we bought ours the new tyres were on the front and there was a vibration at about 35mph, after his comment I swapped them over and the vibration disapeared? Coincidence? it made the ride a lot smoother. and as it just had a vicous coupling and an IRD unit.......I was hoping to get them to last!

I do exactly the same mate - new to the rear and old rears moved to the front as fronts become worn.
