Hi folks. I like to buy another land rover for off road.... What i have to get in consideration from disco 1 200tdi or 300tdi???? Or better a Disco 2 td5???

For where the OP is going to use his new LR, there is no real difference between 200 and 300TDI in a working 4wd.Both are very reliable,( With maintenance) field repairable and rebuildable for sensible outlay.A TD5 is fine too,but on occasion would be harder and more expensive to repair.
Purely out of interest Wammers, why do you say the 300 is better than the 200 ?

Had a good 200 and a good 300. The 300 did appear to perform better not as tractor like, not a lot in it though.

Ok guys i see that bot tdi (200, 300) engine are better then td5, and a 4.6 with LPG im talking for p38 with arnot gen 3 and other modifications...

The TD5 had more power and much more torque than the 200 or 300, it is very reliable (as long as you don't overheat it). it's much more refined too. There's no comparison. As Datatek said though - what's wrong with the M51? You will have to be mucking around with transmissions etc if you move away from a non-standard engine - how will you keep the BECM happy?
